Speech 07 is a course in the theory, methodology, and practice of critical listening, critical thinking, and oral argument. This course includes training in propositions, methods of analysis, stock issue policy analysis, evidence and proofs, as well as cross examination considerations in oral argument. Speech 07 includes an examination of the types of debatable propositions, listening, note taking, research techniques, and the delivery skills essential to effective oral advocacy. The course includes exposure to team and Lincoln-Douglas debate formats on class selected topics and issues. A final examination is required.
