RESOURCES

The VCAS has four primary resources:

THE LIBRARY, Various publications on local prehistory as well as those related publications which are thought to be relivent.  At present the collection is housed at Moorpark College as part of the Archaeological Program. Access to the collection is through the VCAS Archivist.

SITE RECORDS/REPORTS, The records of site location, site status, reports of excavations and collection catalogs.  These material are considered CONFIDENTIAL and are available to qualified researchers through the VCAS Archivist.  Members of the Society are active in this area as part of the Site Stewart Program.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL STATEMENTS TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORTS, Archaeology is part of the Environmental Review Process, both as postive and negative data.  This part of the VCAS Archives contains the Archaeological Statements to Environmental Impact Reports (EIR) and are available through the VCAS Archivist to qualified researchers for a small fee.
 

COLLECTIONS, The VCAS has a number of archaeological collections which are housed with the Archaeology Program of Moorpark College, these collections are available to students and qualified professionals for various research projects. We are in the process of looking for a new home for our collections they must be relocated by the end of May 2003.
