Looking Back by: Lynnette Morinini
My sister is a sonnet
~a haiku
unspoken words
upon sealed envelopes
never sent
my tongue knows the taste
of her tears
sapphires
me lying in her room
escaping childhood
holding on
one pillow holding two cheeks
arms wrapping round
Each other-
Musically
Oh, to be the winds
That brought us here
I kiss her sleeping lashes
My hands holding her face
Like a jewel
And me
Slipping out of her room
Like air
Perhaps she will never know
The way her emerald
Water-colored eyes
Pour through me
Like
Liquid
Diamonds
still
