Description:
NTS MO5,
Nutrition for the Health Professions, 3 units. Provides
an evaluation of nutritional status, promotion of optimal nutrition, and
application of nutrition principles to common medical disorders.
Objectives:
Describe the structure and general functions of
carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins and minerals, and list major food
sources. Discuss Medical Nutrition
Therapy for the management of diabetes, heart, renal, and liver diseases.
Compare to roles
that enteral and parenteral nutrition support play in disease management.
