TEXT:

Kenneth Kendall & Julie Kendall, Systems Analysis and Designs, 7th ed (Available in the bookstore.) Publisher: Prentice Hall ISBN: TBA

OBJECTIVES:

CLASS BEHAVIOR

Treat this class as if it is your job. Characteristics of appropriate behavior include (but are not limited to): pagers and cell phones on vibrate, respect others ideas, active participation, appropriate vocabulary, and being on time.

GRADING:

The grading will be based on the following criteria:
30%Multiple Choice Test (60 questions) - 100 pts
20%Take home essay Test (Typed) - 100 pts
15%Final Take home essay (Typed) - 100 pts
20%Team/Group presentation - 100 pts
10%Attendance & Participation
5%Homework
100%Total

One Team/Group Presentation:
The team should consist of 3-5 members. This presentation will consist of a 15-20 minute discussion on the team's project. This presentation could be similar to those given to a project sponsor or a feasibility and Cost-Benefit Analysis. Other ideas could include a mock JAD session or system interview with end users. For more ideas see your instructor. DO NOT USE THE PERSONAL BUSINESS OF ONE OF YOUR TEAM MEMBERS! Each member will be evaluating the other team members. The grade will be based on the following: 60 points for project (instructor evaluates) and 40 points from other team members assessment of your participation. Team member evaluation will be based on 100 point scale, given to instructor, and instructor will figure project total for each student.

Attendance & Participation:
10% of the total grade. According to the college policy, if you miss more than two weeks of classes, you may be dropped from the course administratively. If you want to drop the course, take steps to do so on your own; the instructor is not responsible for dropping you.

FINAL GRADE:
Totals for each assignment will be weighted and the percentage break down will be as follows:
90-100%A
80-89%B
70-79%C
60-69%D
Below 60%F
