Keyword Relevance Searching
Keyword Relevance Searching is a good starting point for finding books and other materials on your topic. To do a keyword search, you enter the search terms related to your topic, and the computer will look for a match for those words in the records of all the items in the library.
Use a Keyword Relevance Search when you:
- are doing a preliminary search and need ideas for additional search terms
- when you are not sure of the exact title of a book, a CD, or a video, but know a few words
- when you are not sure of the exact subject headings to use for your topic
- need to combine two or more concepts
- are searching for a phrase, e.g., "eating disorders," "capital punishment"
-
want to see what is available in the library on your topic
