- connecting to federally funded medical and educational databases
- The Web is good for online shopping, purchasing books, music, clothes, and others
- connecting to friends, professionals and other people sharing similar interests though social networking sites such as myspace.com, facebook and blogs

The free Web is a
good tool for finding information, but it is usually not the best
place to begin academic research.
