Moorpark College currently offers over 1200 courses within over 100 majors and programs, providing students the breadth and depth of options needed for most academic pursuits. Every year new courses are added to the curriculum to meet ongoing student and community needs. For answers to questions about course offerings, contact the appropriate division office (numbers provided in the individual subject pages) or make an appointment with a counselor (call 805.378-1428).

The basic requirements for achieving a Degree or Certificate in a specific discipline are noted in the following subject pages. Some disciplines provide a sample course sequence that suggests how to schedule the classes to make the most of a students time on campus. For information about when each course is offered, consult the current semesters Schedule of Classes, which is available on campus about five weeks prior to the start of each semester as well as online.

Understanding the Course Descriptions

The following pages provide a variety of information about each specific class: the unit value of the course, the hours the course meets, the prerequisites and corequisites, and the transfer status. Additional information is given about CAN and IGETC designations.

Transfer Details: Each course description explains the courses specific transfer status to the California State University (CSU) and/or the University of California (UC) systems. The course may be accepted for credit by the CSU system only, by both the CSU and UC systems, or by neither system. If no transfer status information follows a course description, that course is not acceptable for credit at any of the California public four-year institutions and is probably not accepted at private or our-of-state institutions either. For some courses, the UC system grants limited credit, and an explanation of that limitation is provided. If you have any questions, talk to a counselor or explore a range of online information available in the Transfer Center (Admin. Bldg., 805-378-1551).
