Headlines
Softball sweeps LA Pierce. The Lady Raiders defeated LA Pierce College, 5-0 and 8-0, in WSC Gold action. Cayla Nelson went 4 for 4 with 2 steals, 2 runs and an RBI to lead the Lady Raiders. Brittney Alfino aded 2 doubles on the day. Kelly Elder got both wins. more
Men's Volleyball defeats Pierce. The Raiders defeated LA Pierce College in 5 games. Game scores were 30-25, 25-30, 24-30, 30-21, and 15-12. Kyle Auge had 18 kills and 3 blocks. Josh Howley had 16 kills. Adam Quinn had 60 assists while Libero Eric Varney had 18 digs. more
Baseball takes on Santa Barbara. The Raiders were defeated by visiting Santa Barbara City College, 11-6. It was 4th straight loss for the Raiders in WSC action. more
Track and Field at Cerritos Invitational. The Men's and Women's teams traveled to Cerrotos College for the annual event. Kenny Sigishita took first in the Discus and 3rd in the Shot. Garrett Demirjian took 2nd in the Javelin and 4th in the 110 hurdles. Danny Scharf was second in the 800. Curtis Hodge and Cameron Begue went 2 and 3 in the Hammer.
Jane Swenson won the Hammer, was 2nd in the Discus, and 3rd in the Shot. Madelyn Stolze was 2nd in the 5000 with a lifetime best of 18:14.65. more
The Moorpark College Athletic Department has renamed the Scholar Athlete of the Year Scholarship to the Jim Moore Scholar Athlete of the Year Scholarship to honor the first Athletic Director in school history. Moore passed away March 28, 2008. Those interested in donating to the scholarship can make checks payable to the MC Foundation and mailed to Moorpark College Athletics. You may also call (805) 378-1457, if you have any questions.
The Moorpark College Foundation has set up a memorial scholarship in the name of Dave Klinzing to annually assist any graduating student/ trainer transferring to a 4 year school. "Big" Dave tragically lost his life 2/26/04 on his way to school. He had been studying to be an athletic trainer.
